Growers who employ seasonal labour are invited to attend a free workshop to learn more about immigration requirements and labour compliance. The practical workshops will cover the essentials for meeting immigration requirements, record keeping, zero-hour contracts piece rates, and more.
Jerf van Beek, Hort NZ's national seasonal labour coordinator, is the workshop presenter. Attendees will work through an employment agreement and learn about the requirements relating to employing and paying your seasonal workforce. Those attending the workshop will receive copies of the templates and supporting documents.
The workshop is also being held on Tuesday, 3 April in Alexandra at Dunstan Hills Packhouse, 253 Strode Road, Earnscleugh, at 7–9pm.
