Growers and members of the summerfruit industry are invited to attend a SummerGreen meeting at Mt Erin Fruit Services. Summerfruit NZ's Richard Mills has organised a meeting focusing on soil health and soil testing. Tim Jones and Marie Dawkins from Summerfruit NZ will also be attending to discuss the upcoming commodity levy referendum.
Health & safety – Mt Erin have requested that people attending take care when entering and exiting the packhouse.
Parking – there is plenty of parking available on the left-hand side of the entrance.
Jerome Demmer from BioStart will give us a presentation on soil health and some ideas on how it might be improved.
Martin Taylor from Horticentre will show us how to read a soil test.
The renewal of our commodity levy is a top priority for our industry. Summerfruit NZ’s chairman Tim Jones and chief executive Marie Dawkins, will outline the process required by government. It is important that growers are informed and ask questions and give their feedback. This meeting is the first round of two rounds of consultation
