SummerGreen field days in late August

Ronald Vermeulen Visits

Summerfruit NZ is arranging a series of orchard visits by Ronald Vermeulen, a technical horticultural consultant, based in the Netherlands, who has worked in many places around the world.  Following the orchard visits, Ronald will present a ‘compare and contrast’ between different stonefruit and cherry growing regions around the world. While the presentation will focus on cherries, the information should be useful for all growers. The field visits will highlight a number of tree styles. At the conclusion of the presentation, there will be some time for socialising.

Ronald last spoke to the New Zealand summerfruit industry in October 2018. A copy of that presentation can be found on the portal under Main menu/All documents and searching ‘Ronald’ in the name column. That presentation covered aspects such as training systems, tree health and nutrition, pollination, varieties, rootstocks and pruning.
