Following reports of Covid-19 reportedly detected on the packaging of imported fresh fruit in Wuxi, China late last week, Summerfruit NZ worked with the Ministry for Primary Industries to confirm that the New Zealand Embassy in Beijing had not been advised this was New Zealand fruit.

Global consumers can continue to have confidence in New Zealand fruit due to us being principally free of Covid-19 in the community, and our health and safety processes.
This serves as a reminder to all growers and packers to ensure the Covid tracer app is in use by all staff and visitors to mitigate any potential risks to both ongoing business operations, and market access, should community transmission occur.
