The Ministry for Primary Industries is planning to update and re-release the Fruit Fly Official Assurance Programme (OAP) in February-March 2018. This update will clarify parts of the OAP that are causing confusion to MAOs. The Ministry is recommending that MAOs hold off updating their systems until the OAP review is completed. If there is an incursion before the updated OAP is released, those MAOs that do not have an approval in place will be provided with incursion specific pre-approved procedures.
