Field Walk

Growers’ post-harvest field walk on planar cherries as part of the Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures (SFFF) Future Orchard Planting System (FOPS) project.
We will be visiting Ben Van Gool’s Upright Shooting Offshoot (UFO) cherry block, at Lake Terrace Cherries, to discuss this season’s performance and current orchard activities. Plant and Food Research will give an overview of a small-scale trial carried out this season, on how different row spacings and structures such as rain covers influence the light environment in planar cherry orchards.
