A reminder for levy payers and levy collectors: if you haven’t already, please submit your levy declaration on the Summerfruit NZ grower portal.
Payments for the 23/24 harvest season are now due under the Commodities Levies (Summerfruit) Order 2020. Levy payers are responsible for including all their sales in their levy declaration, including gate sales, online sales, and other sales such as processed fruit.
The commodity levy is used by Summerfruit NZ to invest in the issues and activities that matter to the summerfruit industry.
As a reminder, levy payments should be:
- submitted every month throughout the season using the online levy declaration form found under the Processes tab in the Portal; or
- where the total levy payable is less than $300 for a year Summerfruit NZ will accept a single annual levy declaration online provided the declaration and payment is received before 31 May each year; or
- if no levy is due then a nil return may be submitted online using the levy declaration form at the end of the season.
Where a collection agent doesn’t deduct the levy, the grower is responsible for submitting the levy directly to Summerfruit NZ. More information can be found below.
