The Young Grower of the Year national final took place in Pukekohe last week, where Gregoire Durand represented Central Otago, alongside five other regional contestants. Roger Brownlie, Summerfruit NZ Chair, was there to congratulate Gregoire for his efforts.
The Young Grower competition plays an important role in supporting the next generation of growers and horticulture industry leaders and showcases some of the industry's top talent. With the rapid rate of change and challenges facing the industry, Summerfruit NZ is proud to support these talented young growers. Competitions like this give young growers invaluable experience to help start their journey as the leaders of tomorrow.
