Hawke’s Bay water consent update: please act now

  • 4pm, Friday 29 November 2024
This is the date you need to have applications lodged by to replace water permits that expire on 31 May 2025, to ensure that you can continue to take water under your expiring consent while the application is processed. If you are unsure what volume of water to apply for, HortNZ suggests applying for the same volume of water as you can take under your expiring consent. You should have received reminders from the regional council about your consent expiring – please don’t ignore them!

  • Early December
The regional council has said it will provide an update about all the water permits it is currently processing in early December. The last communication you should have got from them was an email saying that they had extended the processing timeframes until 30 December 2024.

HortNZ understands that in its early December update, the regional council will either confirm a date that further information needs to be provided to them by, or it may say that it is going to wait a bit longer and provide another update sometime in the new year.

If there is any confusion about these dates, or you have any questions about filling in the application form to replace your water permit, please get in touch with Charlotte Drury via email or on 027 322 5595.
