Clarification of the recent RMP assessment

The Residue Management Programme (RMP) operated by Summerfruit NZ was recently assessed by SGS. It was found to be compliant with Global GAP’s requirement for assessment of third-party residue monitoring providers. This certification is valid from 12 December 2021 to 11 December 2022. Crops included under this assessment were cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches and plums.

This certification ensures harmonised interpretation and consistency across the residue programme used by our growers and meets the established Global GAP minimum requirements. Members can find the compliance certificate on the portal under ‘Main menu/Agrichemicals/Agrichemical guidance/Global GAP audit of SNZ's residue monitoring schemes’.

Please note that this certification applies for export fruit. Growers undertaking a Global GAP audit may still be required to have Summerfruit, or other crops, residue tested.
